When orcs destroyed her country six years ago, Bella went into hiding and her people scattered. Three years ago, while attempting to save Orie, a weredragon-cursed pleasure slave, Bella became aware of her people's plight and set forth to free them from the bonds of slavery and reestablish her kingdom in a temporary refuge far from home.

In an effort to serve his queen, his vow, and their people, Orie has spent the past three years governing these refuge settlements, watching his queen continually place herself in danger on their behalf from afar.

Since stepping down from chosen king for his rightful queen and childhood friend, Ezryl has worked alongside his monarch enacting her rule. Continually pressured to strengthen the monarchy and provide an heir with their marriage, and fully aware of the complication named Orie, Ezryl is undecided whether he’s longing for her or her crown.

While Bella and Ezryl are across the world fulfilling their mission to return her people to safety, a mysterious shadow overpowers her seer, Orie's brother, bringing forth a prophecy threatening her and her already downtrodden kingdom.

 

As Orie sets out to find his queen, he unknowingly alerts the villains to their whereabouts, setting the prophecy in motion.

 

Navigating the turmoil of destiny and agency, Orie, Ezryl, and Bella come together again in this second installment of the Altian Chronicles. Ultimately they must learn while some sacrifices are for the greater good, others must be made for the one person worth everything.
